Tucked away in the green hills southeast of the spa town of Trenčianske Teplice, the Baračka reservoir is a peaceful little gem on the Teplička stream. It is the kind of place where you slow down, breathe in the fresh valley air, and forget you were ever in a hurry.
The landscape around the reservoir is gentle and inviting throughout the year. Spring brings lush greenery to the surrounding slopes, summer makes the water glitter in the sun, and autumn wraps everything in warm golden colours. The terrain is easy-going and the atmosphere wonderfully quiet — a perfect escape from the busier spa centre nearby.
How to get thereThe earth dam is nearly 200 metres long and almost 9 metres high — a stroll along its crest offers a lovely view over the water surface and surrounding hills. The reservoir was built between 1964 and 1969 and entered permanent operation in 1972.
