Verkhovyna National Nature Park is one of the most remote and untouched corners of the Ukrainian Carpathians — a place where wild nature takes centre stage and the modern world feels far away. If you are looking for raw mountain wilderness without the crowds, this is exactly where you want to be.

The park stretches across the Chyvchyn and Hrynava mountains, in the headwaters of the White and Black Cheremosh rivers — the most distant and least accessible part of the Ukrainian Carpathians. The landscape shifts from dense beech and spruce forests to open alpine meadows, with mountain streams threading through every valley. Spring brings carpets of wildflowers, summer offers lush green ridges perfect for hiking, autumn transforms the forests into fiery colours, and winter turns the whole area into a silent snowy wilderness for only the most dedicated adventurers.

The idea of protecting this area was first proposed as far back as 1930 by a local forester — it took nearly 80 years and the efforts of botanists and conservationists across generations before the park was finally created in 2010.
