Bohemian Switzerland is one of Central Europe's most dramatic landscapes — a maze of sandstone towers, arches, gorges and rock labyrinths that feel like stepping into another world. The undisputed star is Pravčická Gate, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe and the symbol of the park. Whether you're a casual hiker or a seasoned explorer, this 79 km² pocket of wild nature on the Czech-German border will leave a lasting impression.

The terrain is extraordinarily varied for such a compact area. Deep river gorges carved by the Kamenice and Křinice rivers, sheer sandstone walls rising from dense forest, and damp ravines draped in hundreds of species of moss and lichen — every turn reveals something new. Forests cover 97% of the park. Spring brings fresh greens and birdsong, summer offers cool shade in the canyon depths, autumn turns the sandstone cliffs into a tapestry of gold and rust, and winter gives the rock formations an almost mythical quality under a dusting of snow.

• Hřensko (car park at park entrance) — trail through Edmund's Gorge and the Wild Gorge towards Pravčická Gate, approx. 3–4 hours, moderate
• Mezní Louka (car park) — direct trail to Pravčická Gate, approx. 1 hour, easy
• Jetřichovice — starting point for the Jetřichovice rock towns and viewpoints, approx. 2–3 hours, moderate

• Entry to Pravčická Gate and the Kamenice Gorges (Edmund's and Wild Gorge) requires a ticket
• Stay on marked trails — parts of the park are strictly protected zones
• Rock climbing is permitted only in designated areas and only for members of UIAA-affiliated clubs
• The park borders Saxon Switzerland National Park in Germany — cross-border hikes on foot are possible

The peregrine falcon population here is the largest in Central Europe, and the layered sandstone walls tell the story of a shallow sea that covered this land some 90 million years ago — geology you can actually touch.
