Kasprowa Wyżnia Cave is a compact but fascinating cave tucked into the Stare Szałasiska valley in the Western Tatras. With three separate entrances, it's a rewarding find for anyone curious about the lesser-known underground side of the Tatra Mountains.

Inside, the cave surprises with its variety - a steep, narrow entrance passage leads down to a 12-metre pit, opening into a sizeable chamber roughly 25 metres long. The walls are decorated with distinctive formations known as popcorn concretions and moonmilk, while ferns, mosses and algae cling to the light near the entrances. The atmosphere underground stays cool and damp year-round, typical of Tatra caves, and descending further requires some caving experience and proper gear.

The cave was discovered on 27 October 1913 by Mariusz Zaruski and Włodzimierz Jodkowski, who carved a commemorative inscription into the rock near the third entrance - still visible today.
