Chmelař Pond is one of the most popular bodies of water in the Ústí region, second in fame only to the celebrated Lake Máchovo. Located right next to the town of Úštěk on the Bohemian Suburb (České Předměstí), it's a favorite spot for swimming, camping and simply unwinding by the water.

The setting is gentle and pastoral - rolling countryside, green banks and a 400-metre earthen dam running along the railway line between Lovosice and Česká Lípa. In summer the shores buzz with life thanks to two beaches and the nearby cottage settlement of Habřinská stráň, while autumn brings the traditional fish harvest at the end of October and into November. Winter turns the area quiet and atmospheric, perfect for a peaceful walk along the water.

The name Chmelař likely recalls the region's old hop-growing tradition, and beneath the water lies the site of the former village of Zelená Ves, submerged when the pond was restored in the 1960s.
