Zákľuky (1,914 m a.s.l.) is a rewarding summit in the Low Tatras, offering a full 360-degree panorama from its open, grassy top. Sitting above the famous Demänovská Valley, it delivers views stretching from the High and Western Tatras all the way to the Malá and Veľká Fatra ranges.

The peak forms part of a side ridge running northward from Poľana (1,889 m) and sits entirely within the Low Tatras National Park. Its summit and ridge are covered only in low alpine grassland, which is what makes the views so spectacular — there are no trees to block the horizon. In summer the ridge is peaceful and far less crowded than the nearby Chopok. Autumn brings warm golden tones to the hillsides, while in winter and early spring snow transforms the terrain and makes the ascent more serious. On a clear day you can spot the peaks of Dereše, Chopok, the Chočské Hills, Oravská Magura, and even the Beskydy.

• From the northeast — starting from the junction near the Demänovská Cave of Freedom, following the yellow trail over Bôr (1,888 m) — moderate difficulty.
• From the south — from Poľana (1,889 m) via the yellow trail, which also crosses the Cesta hrdinov SNP long-distance route — moderate difficulty.

• The marked tourist trail (yellow blazes) passes directly over the summit.
• The area falls within the Low Tatras National Park — respect all park regulations.
• No mountain hut on or near the summit itself.

Zákľuky is a great choice if you want genuine alpine views and open ridgeline walking without the crowds that flock to the Chopok cable car station just a few kilometres to the east.
