Zadni Granat (2,240 m a.s.l.) is the highest of the three Granaty peaks and one of the most rewarding stops along the legendary Orla Perć ridge trail in the Polish High Tatras. It offers dramatic high-alpine scenery, a genuine sense of exposure, and a summit that feels truly earned.

The peak sits in the long eastern ridge of Świnica, flanked by rocky notches and dramatic walls. Its western face drops nearly 500 metres in a series of ledges and ribs, while the scree slopes facing the Czarna Gąsienicowa Valley give the mountain a bold, rugged character. On a clear autumn day the panorama stretches across the entire High Tatra range, and the golden hues of dwarf pine make the approach feel almost magical. In winter, the south-western slopes attract an increasing number of ski tourers, though conditions demand serious experience.

• Zadni Granat lies on the Orla Perć route — the Zawrat to Kozi Wierch section is one-way only (towards Krzyżne).
• A metal cross was erected on the summit in 1989.
• The Granaty area is open for rock climbing — the west face has 9 routes graded 0–V on the Tatra scale.
• Two rare plant species grow here — Saxifraga retusa and Erigeron uniflorus — found in Poland exclusively in the Tatras.

When the first documented ascent party arrived on neighbouring Skrajny Granat on 19 September 1867, they discovered traces of an even earlier visitor — proof that these peaks have been drawing adventurous souls for longer than any written record shows.
