Wróżna (571 m a.s.l.) is a charming and open summit in the Stożek and Czantoria Range of the Silesian Beskids — a mountain that surprises with its meadow-covered slopes, wide views and the unique atmosphere of a Polish-Czech border ridge. Three gentle summits stretch from east to west along its broad top, making every step of the walk feel varied and rewarding.

Unlike many Beskid peaks, Wróżna is largely free of dense forest. Meadows, scattered thickets of hawthorn, blackthorn and hazel dominate the landscape, opening up long views toward the Olza valley and the Czech town of Třinec below. Spring and summer are the best seasons — the grasslands bloom and, if you are lucky and attentive, you might spot the pale-flowered orchid, a rare and protected species that grows here. Autumn brings warm colours to the hillside, while winter walks along the ridge are peaceful and not overly demanding.

• Třinec (Czech Republic) — red trail along the ridge toward Velká Čantoryje; moderate difficulty to the summit
• Vendryně (Czech Republic) — green trail to the saddle between Wróżna and Malý Ostrý, connecting with the red trail; easy to moderate
• Leszna Górna (Poland, Cieszyn County) — ascent via Polish slopes to the border ridge and the red trail

• The Polish-Czech state border runs directly over the summit — the trail crosses between both countries, so carry a valid ID document.
• There is no mountain hut on or near Wróżna — bring your own food and water.

Keep an eye out for the pale orchid growing in the summit meadows — a legally protected rarity that is a reminder of just how special this quietly beautiful border hill really is.
