Wierzchnica is a peaceful summit in the Karkonosze Foothills, perfect for hikers seeking forest solitude instead of the crowds typical of the main Karkonosze ridge. It's a spot for those who enjoy unhurried walks through lower montane forest, far from busy trails.

Built of Karkonosze granite, the peak rises between Przesieka, Borowice and Sosnówka, forming part of a long ridge stretching from Młynarz through Warzelnia, Bukowna and Lisiura, all the way to Podgórzynka. At its western foot you'll find interesting rock formations — Dziki and Szachownica — well worth a detour on your way up. The whole area is covered in dense lower montane forest, offering pleasant shade in summer and vivid colors in autumn. In winter the area tends to be quiet and secluded, ideal for peaceful snow walks.
