Wielka Kopa (870 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak in the eastern part of the Rudawy Janowickie range and a true mountain crossroads — long ridges radiate from its summit in several directions, forming an impressive massif. If you are looking for a quiet, forested hike away from the crowds, this is your kind of place.

The summit is almost entirely covered by woodland today, giving it a wild and intimate feel. Along the slopes and near the top you will find rocky outcrops and small cliffs built from metamorphic rocks — a striking reminder of the area's deep geological past. Autumn sets the forest ablaze with colour, winter brings snow and silence to the ridges, and spring breathes fresh green life into the landscape. The entire peak lies within the Rudawy Janowickie Landscape Park, protecting its unspoilt character.

Before 1945 a 15-metre wooden observation tower stood on the summit — it vanished after the war without a trace. Its old German name, Scharlachberg ('Scarlet Mountain'), is the only echo of that era that remains today.
