Vepor (1,277 m a.s.l.) is a forested summit in the northern part of the Poľana massif in central Slovakia — peaceful, deeply wooded, and surprisingly rewarding when the trees finally open up to reveal sweeping views. If you enjoy quiet forest ridges with a real panoramic payoff, this one is for you.

The peak sits within the Ľubietovský Vepor National Nature Reserve, part of the broader Poľana Protected Landscape Area. Dense coniferous forest covers the slopes and summit, but several viewpoints break through the canopy to offer memorable vistas: the surrounding hills of Poľana and the Veporské vrchy, almost the entire ridge of the Low Tatras to the north, and westward as far as the Starohorské vrchy, Veľká Fatra, and the Kremnica Hills. On exceptionally clear days, the peaks of the High Tatras are visible to the north. Vepor forms a shared massif with the neighbouring Hrb (1,255 m), widely regarded as the geographical centre of Slovakia. The red-marked Rudná magistrála long-distance trail crosses the summit.
