Velká Stolová (1,057 m a.s.l.) is a peaceful forested summit in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, tucked along the northern ridge of Kněhyně. It won't overwhelm you with sweeping panoramas, but it rewards you with a genuine sense of woodland solitude and the quiet satisfaction of finding a summit that most visitors walk straight past.

The mountain is cloaked in spruce-beech forest that shifts beautifully with the seasons — the beeches glow amber in autumn, while winter drapes the forest paths in deep snow. Partial clearings offer glimpses of the surrounding hills, and the terrain is pleasantly varied without being demanding. The peak sits less than 3 km west of Horní Čeladná and 4.5 km east of Trojanovice.

• Horní Čeladná — red trail to the junction below Malá Stolová saddle (approx. 5 km), then an unmarked forest road (approx. 300 m), followed by a ridge path (approx. 500 m) and another 500 m to the top — total approx. 1.5 km from the junction; difficulty: moderate
• Pustevny — red trail to the same junction (approx. 5.5 km), then as above; difficulty: moderate
• Kunčice pod Ondřejníkem — yellow trail to the junction (approx. 4.5 km), then as above; difficulty: moderate

Since the 1970s, clearings left by logging of trees damaged by pollution and pests have been used as launch sites for hang-gliders, and since the 1990s paragliders have taken to the air here too — making Velká Stolová a quiet favourite among free-flight enthusiasts in the Czech Beskids.
