Uhorská (1029 m a.s.l.) holds a special place in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids — it is the only purely Slovak 'thousander' in the entire range. Tucked within the CHKO Kysuce protected landscape area, it offers a peaceful, forested escape that rewards patient hikers.

The summit itself is cloaked in dense forest, so don't expect sweeping views from the very top. The real highlight comes at the Čuboňov saddle, where the landscape opens up to the west revealing Lysá hora, Smrk and the wider Beskid skyline. The terrain is gentle and the atmosphere quietly immersive — especially in autumn, when the beech and spruce forests blaze with colour and the trails feel almost meditative.

• From the Czech side, starting in Horní Lomná — blue trail, then red ridge trail, then blue again via Čuboňov saddle; approx. 7 km, nearly 500 m elevation gain, moderate.
• From the Slovak side, starting in Vrchpredmier (part of Klokočov) — green trail directly to the summit; 4 km, 400 m elevation gain, easy.

• On the Slovak-side approach, the green trail passes within less than 100 metres of the summit — at the fork in the saddle, make sure to take the correct branch to actually reach the top.
• The Czech-side approach runs along the Slovak-Czech border ridge, passing through a frontier zone.

As the only purely Slovak peak in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, Uhorská carries a quiet distinction that makes it a satisfying target for peak-baggers exploring this cross-border mountain range.
