Trohaniec (939 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak of the Otryt range in the Western Bieszczady mountains — a quiet, forest-cloaked summit that rewards those who seek solitude over summit crowds. If you love wild, unspoiled nature, this one is for you.

Situated on the eastern edge of the Otryt ridge, between the villages of Dwerniczek and Lutowiska, Trohaniec is entirely covered in dense forest. There are no sweeping panoramas at the top, but the atmosphere more than makes up for it. In spring the woods come alive with birdsong and fresh greenery; in autumn they glow with deep golds and reds. This is a place to slow down and absorb the wild spirit of the Bieszczady.

• Lutowiska — green trail towards Chata Socjologa, then follow the marked nature trail (green markers) to the summit; difficulty: moderate.

• No standard tourist trails lead directly to the summit — access is via a marked nature trail branching off the green trail from Lutowiska to Chata Socjologa.

Trohaniec is sometimes classified as the highest Polish peak of the Sanocko-Turczańskie Mountains — making it a doubly interesting goal for peak baggers.
