Tmavá (1,219.1 m) is a peak in the central part of the Veľká Fatra mountains, tucked away in dense forest above the Ľubochnianska Valley. It's a destination for hikers who crave solitude and off-the-beaten-path terrain rather than crowded summits.

The summit is almost entirely covered by continuous forest, so there's no single panoramic viewpoint. Still, from spots with thinner vegetation, hikers can enjoy views of the surrounding peaks of Veľká Fatra, and on clear days even glimpse Malá Fatra and part of the Oravská Magura range. The atmosphere here is wild and untouched - a quiet, forested world far from marked tourist paths. In winter the area becomes noticeably harder to access due to snow cover and the lack of an official trail.

• Via the ridge from Skalná Alpa (1,463 m) - no marked trail, recommended only for experienced hikers
• The yellow trail runs along the northern foot through the Blatná Valley to the Smrekovica mountain hotel
• The red trail runs along the western foot through the Ľubochnianska Valley to the saddle below Čierny kameň

• No marked trail leads directly to the summit
• The southern part of the massif lies within the Skalná Alpa National Nature Reserve
• To the north stretches the Blatné nature reserve
• The peak lies within Veľká Fatra National Park, where off-trail movement is discouraged

Tmavá rewards those who don't mind bushwhacking through quiet forest - a hidden corner of Veľká Fatra where the reward is a rare glimpse of the surrounding ridgelines through the trees.
