Štrbský štít (2,381 m a.s.l.) rises as a beautifully shaped rocky pyramid above the famous Štrbské Pleso resort in the Slovak High Tatras. Its perfectly symmetrical silhouette is visible from the valleys below, making it one of the most recognisable peaks in the central part of the range — and one of the more alluring for those who want to venture beyond the marked trails.

The summit sits on the Kriváň ridge between Hlinska Tower (2,340 m) and Hrubý vrch (2,428 m). Its northern slopes drain into Hlinska Valley, while the southern side overlooks the stunning Mlynická Valley, home to lakes like Vyšné Kozie pleso, Okrúhle pleso and Capie pleso. From the top, you get an almost full circular panorama taking in countless High Tatra peaks as well as distant views towards the Volovské vrchy, the Low Tatras and the Orava Beskids. The best views of the peak itself can be enjoyed from above the Skok waterfall and from around Capie pleso — well worth the detour.

• From Vyšné Kozie pleso — approach from the south-east, accessible only with a licensed mountain guide.
• From Capie pleso — approach from the south-west, also exclusively with a licensed mountain guide.

• The summit lies within the Tatra National Park and two national nature reserves (Kôprová Valley and Mlynická Valley). There is no marked trail — access is only permitted with a licensed mountain guide.
• The nearest base and starting point is Štrbské Pleso, located to the south of the peak.

The first recorded summer ascent was made by Lajos Petrik with guides around 1895, while the first winter ascent was achieved by E. Bauer, Alfred Martin and H. Schäfer on 5 January 1906 — a testament to the long mountaineering history of these mountains.
