Světlý vrch (1,316 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, unspoiled peak tucked into the heart of the Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), just 5 km southeast of the popular resort of Špindlerův Mlýn. It rewards those who seek it out with genuine mountain solitude and a beautifully preserved natural landscape within Krkonoše National Park.

The summit itself is capped with dwarf mountain pine, giving it that classic high-mountain look. The eastern slope opens up into the wide meadow enclave of Zadní Rennerovky, while the smaller Friesovy Boudy meadow sits on the southwestern flank — both offering lovely open views amid the surrounding spruce forests. The western slopes drain into Klínový stream and the eastern into Kotelský stream; they meet at Dolní Dvůr to form the Malé Labe, a left tributary of the Elbe river. The varied terrain makes Světlý vrch an attractive destination in every season, from summer wildflower meadows to snowy winter silence.

• From Klínové Boudy towards Dolní Dvůr — yellow-marked trail KČT no. 7208, passes through the shallow saddle between Světlý vrch and Zadní Planina near the summit — moderate difficulty.
• From the eastern side — a paved track along red-marked trail no. 0406 from Luční bouda to Vrchlabí runs along the eastern slope close to the summit — moderate difficulty.

• The entire area falls within Krkonoše National Park (KRNAP) — stay on marked trails at all times.
• There are no buildings or shelters on the summit itself; mountain huts (boudy) can be found in both meadow enclaves on the slopes.

The peak's old German name, Friesberg, and the nearby Friesovy Boudy meadow are quiet reminders of the centuries-long settlement history on these slopes — a history that the surrounding landscape still whispers about today.
