Štiavnica (2,025 m a.s.l.) is the second highest peak in the Low Tatras — a wild, trailless summit that rewards those willing to venture off the beaten path with stunning views and true mountain solitude. It marks the eastern end of the Ďumbier Tatras ridge and has a character all of its own.

From the north, Štiavnica looks every bit the high-mountain giant, with walls dropping nearly 500 metres in a dramatic sweep. The gentler southern slopes are strewn with fields of granite boulders, beautiful in any season. From the rocky summit you get a sweeping panoramic view across central and northern Slovakia — the High Tatras, the Chočské Hills, Poľana, and on a clear day even Kékes in Hungary. It is genuinely one of the finest viewpoints in the entire Low Tatras range.

• From Ďumbier (2,046 m) — follow the ridge eastward, no trail markings, moderate to demanding; Ďumbier itself is accessible from the Chata gen. M. R. Štefánika hut located at the southern foot of the massif.

• The entire peak lies within the Ďumbier National Nature Reserve — stay on designated routes and respect protected zone rules.
• There are no marked trails leading directly to Štiavnica; the recommended approach is along the ridge from Ďumbier.
• Nearby facility: Chata generála Milana Rastislava Štefánika, at the southern base of the massif.

The stream Štiavnica rises on the southern slopes of this very peak, flows east around the massif and eventually joins the Váh river — a neat reminder that even the mountain's name is written into the landscape around it.
