Średniak (781 m a.s.l.) is a quiet but charming summit in the Suche Mountains — the western part of the Kamienne Mountains in the Central Sudetes. What makes it truly special is its position right on the Polish-Czech state border: you can literally step from one country into another at the very top.

The slopes are covered with spruce and beech-spruce forest typical of the lower montane zone in this part of the Sudetes. The terrain is gentle and forested, offering a calm, intimate atmosphere rather than sweeping panoramas. Spring brings fresh greenery, autumn paints the hillsides gold and red, and in winter the border trail takes on a magical, snow-covered quality. It is a wonderful spot for a peaceful hike away from the crowds.

• Sokołowsko — green trail (border trail) running along the state border, part of the route from Tłumaczów to Okraj Pass; difficulty: easy to moderate.

• The summit lies exactly on the Polish-Czech state border — you will be crossing between two countries at the top.
• The southern, Czech side of the hill falls within the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area, where nature protection rules apply.

Średniak is built from Permian porphyries and rhyolitic tuffs, making it a little gem for geology enthusiasts — a remnant of the ancient volcanic history of the Sudetes, quietly hidden beneath its green forest cover.
