Špičák (1,221 m a.s.l.) is a peak with an unusual story — for nearly 70 years it was off-limits to the public as part of the Boletice military training area. Since 2016 it has been open to visitors, making it one of the quieter and more intriguing destinations in the southern Bohemian Forest.

Situated about 5 km north of Horní Planá, Špičák ranks third in both height and prominence within the Želnavská hornatina sub-range. The landscape around the summit is beautifully untouched — dense coniferous forest, a genuine sense of solitude, and the wild atmosphere of a place that spent decades undisturbed. At the top you will find the iron skeleton of a former military tower, a silent reminder of the summit's restricted past.

• There is no marked trail leading directly to the very top — only the blue circular route around the peak is currently waymarked.
• The area was part of the Boletice military district until 1 January 2016 and was completely closed to the public before that date.

Špičák is a rare case of a mountain that spent almost seven decades hidden behind a military fence — its unspoiled character today is a direct result of that unusual history.
