Sokolik (644 m a.s.l.) is one of the most distinctive summits in the Rudawy Janowickie range — a granite massif scattered with dozens of named rock formations, crowned by a steel viewing platform perched atop the tallest pillar of the famous 'Sokoliki' rocks. It's the kind of place that rewards every step with drama and character.

Sitting in the Sokole Mountains just north of its twin peak Krzyżna Góra, the summit and slopes are packed with rocky outcrops carrying wonderfully evocative names — 'Sukiennice' (The Cloth Hall), 'Gilotyna' (The Guillotine), 'Solarium', 'Jastrzębiec' and many more. From the viewing platform, the panorama stretches across the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains), the Bóbr river valley, the northern Rudawy Janowickie and the Kaczawskie Mountains. In autumn the beech forests blaze with colour, while in winter the frosted granite takes on an almost otherworldly quality.

• The steel viewing platform on top of the western 'Sokoliki' rock pillar (642 m) is accessible via iron stairs — open to all visitors.

• The entire summit area falls within the Rudawski Landscape Park.

The iron staircase leading to the viewing platform was built as far back as 1884 or 1885, and a cast-iron plaque with the words 'Beautiful view' once hung between the landings — making Sokolik one of the oldest accessible viewpoints in the Polish Sudetes.
