Skalniak (915 m a.s.l.) is the second highest peak in the Stołowe Mountains and a wonderful destination for anyone who loves the unique table-mountain landscape of Central Sudetes. Its broad, forested plateau hides dramatic vertical sandstone walls and rewards visitors with sweeping views from its rocky edges.

The entire summit lies within Stołowe Mountains National Park, giving it a wonderfully preserved, wild atmosphere. The dense forest on the plateau offers cool shade in summer, a blaze of colour in autumn, and a snow-covered fairytale setting in winter. From the nearby viewpoints at Błędne Skały (852 m) and Ptak (841 m), you can enjoy panoramic views of Szczeliniec Wielki and Mały, the Sowie Mountains, the Kamienne Mountains and the Bardzkie Mountains — scenery that makes the walk entirely worthwhile.

• Skalniak is located within Stołowe Mountains National Park — park regulations apply, including staying on marked trails.
• The Błędne Skały viewpoint is one of the park's most popular attractions and can be busy in summer — an early morning visit is recommended.

The peak's old German name — Spiegelberg bei Cudowa — is a reminder of the centuries-long Silesian-Bohemian border history that still echoes in the landscape and the architecture of nearby villages.
