Rozsypaniec (1280 m) is one of those Bieszczady peaks that captivates not with its height but with its wild character — sweeping mountain meadows and scattered rocky outcrops that give the summit its name. It's a true treat for lovers of panoramic views, sitting right on the Carpathian border ridge next to Ukraine.

From about 1100–1200 m the slopes of Rozsypaniec open up into wide grassy meadows (połoniny), rewarding hikers with sweeping views over the Tarnica massif on the Polish side, the border ridge of Kińczyk Bukowski, and numerous ranges of the Ukrainian Bieszczady, including the highest peak in the area, Pikuj (1405 m). The rocks scattered across the slopes give the place a rugged, untamed feel. Summer brings golden grasses swaying in the wind, autumn paints the meadows in rust and gold, while winter demands proper experience and gear from anyone attempting the ridge.

How to get to the summit

• From Wołosate — Main Beskid Trail (red), approx. 2h50 (descent approx. 2h05), moderate difficulty
• From Halicz — approx. 15 min (return approx. 20 min), short and easy ridge walk
• From Przełęcz pod Tarnicą — approx. 1h50 (return approx. 1h25)

Practical information

• The summit lies within Bieszczady National Park, right next to the Ukrainian border — stay strictly on marked trails
• On the south-western slope runs a former road from Wołosate to Przełęcz Bukowska, now closed to vehicles and used as part of the hiking trail

The name Rozsypaniec comes from the striking rocks 'scattered' across its slopes, a feature that catches every hiker's eye along this ridge.
