Rówienka (960 m a.s.l.) is one of those quietly charming summits in the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains) that rewards curious hikers with peaceful spruce forests and a relaxed, off-the-beaten-path feel. It won't dominate the skyline, but it's a lovely part of any longer walk in the Silesian Ridge.

The peak sits in the north-eastern part of the Silesian Ridge, on a lateral spur branching off from Smogornia towards the north-east. Suszyca rises above it, while Czarna Góra lies below, connected via Przełęcz pod Czołem to Czoło. The slopes are built from characteristic Karkonosze granite and blanketed in dense spruce woodland — magical under a dusting of winter snow, and pleasantly cool in summer. The town of Karpacz lies just to the east, making it an easy addition to a broader mountain itinerary.

• Karpacz Górny — blue trail running along the eastern slopes via Stara Polana, 'Samotnia' hut and 'Strzecha Akademicka' hut towards Równia pod Śnieżką
• Borowice — yellow trail via Stara Polana and Pielgrzymy towards Słonecznik, also passing the eastern slopes
• Borowice — green trail starting at Rówienka and leading down to Borowice

The old German name for this spot — Rübezahle Kegelbahn — translates roughly as 'Rübezahl's bowling alley', a playful nod to the legendary mountain spirit of the Giant Mountains who, according to folklore, used this gentle hillside for his games.
