Prostredné Solisko (2400 m a.s.l.) is a striking satellite peak on the Solisko Ridge in the High Tatras — a sharp, rocky summit that rewards the adventurous with an extraordinary sense of alpine wilderness. This is not a place for an afternoon stroll; it is a destination that demands respect and proper preparation.

Situated between the Furkotská and Mlynická valleys, the peak offers a dramatic vantage point over two of the most beautiful glacial valleys in the High Tatras. The terrain is rugged and exposed, with narrow rocky ledges and steep faces that make every step feel earned. In winter and early spring the summit is draped in snow and ice, transforming it into an even more serious mountaineering objective.

• The approach follows the Furkotská Valley — the same route used during the first ascent in 1903. There is no marked hiking trail; the terrain is demanding and requires technical competence.

• There is no marked tourist trail to Prostredné Solisko — ascent is only permitted with a licensed mountain guide.
• The peak falls within the Slovak TANAP National Park regulations.

When pioneer climber Karol Englisch stood on this summit for the first time on 19 July 1903, he named it 'Annaspitze' after a mysterious person called Anna — whose identity has never been established.
