Preislerův kopec is a quiet, forested summit in the western Krkonoše (Giant Mountains), tucked away on a ridge where the trees keep their secrets. This isn't a peak for panoramic photos — it's a peak for those who love the simple rhythm of walking through deep spruce forest.

Together with the neighboring three-topped Vlčí hřeben, it forms the ridge known as Vlčí hřbet. The entire ridge is cloaked in dense spruce forest, and views are the exception rather than the rule here. A small rocky outcrop at the summit holds a geodetic survey point — a quiet reminder of the mapmakers who once passed through. In winter, snow blankets the silent forest in a hush that feels almost sacred; in summer, the shade of the spruces offers welcome relief from the heat. This is a place for contemplation rather than sightseeing.

How to reach the summit

• From the settlement of Rezek — yellow trail (western slope) or green trail (eastern slope), short and easy walk
• From the saddle below Dvoračky — same trails, opposite direction
• An unmarked path traces the ridge at roughly the 1050 m contour line, circling around the whole ridge

Practical information

• No marked trail runs directly along the ridge crest, but apart from the rocky northern section it's fairly easy to cross on foot
• A geodetic survey point marks the small rocky summit

Preislerův kopec won't dazzle you with views, but it offers something rarer these days — genuine forest solitude on the quiet Vlčí hřbet ridge.
