Predigtstuhl (1,024 m) is a welcoming, forested summit in the Bavarian Forest that punches well above its weight. Perched on the wooded ridge between Pröller (1,049 m) and Hirschenstein (1,095 m), it rises high above the Danube valley and the town of Bogen below — a modest mountain with a surprisingly big personality.

The atmosphere here is defined by dense, atmospheric woodland typical of the Bavarian Forest. In summer the trails are cool and quiet, in autumn the hillsides glow with colour, and in winter Predigtstuhl transforms into one of the most significant ski areas in the entire region, sharing the slopes with neighbouring Pröller as part of the Sankt Englmar ski zone. Whatever season you visit, there is always something to discover.

One detail that gives this summit an extra dimension: the long-distance European hiking trail E8 runs directly across the peak, linking hikers on a continent-spanning journey from the Atlantic to the Black Sea.
