Prašivá (1,675 m a.s.l.) is the westernmost peak of the main ridge in this section of the Low Tatras, and it is the kind of summit that makes you feel like you have earned the whole sky. The grassy, open top rewards hikers with a full 360-degree panorama that stretches far beyond the surrounding mountains.

The ridge and summit of Prašivá are covered only in low vegetation, keeping the views wide open in every direction no matter the season. On a clear day you can spot the Western Tatras, the Chočské Vrchy hills, the Malá Fatra range, and even the Beskydy mountains on the horizon — alongside the closer ridges of the Low Tatras and Veľká Fatra. In summer the ridge is alive with hikers walking the famous Cesta hrdinov SNP long-distance trail. Autumn brings spectacular colour to the beech forests on the lower slopes, while winter turns the ridge into a rewarding ski touring destination.
