Pośredni Wołoszyn (2117 m a.s.l.) is one of the wild, untamed summits of the Wołoszyn Ridge in the High Tatras — a place of raw alpine beauty that captures the imagination of every mountain lover. Strictly protected and closed to visitors, it rewards those who admire it from afar with a striking silhouette visible from the Valley of Five Polish Lakes and the Roztoka Valley.

The peak sits on the ridge separating Waksmundzka Valley from Roztoka Valley, as the third summit from the west along the Wołoszyn crest. It is flanked by Wyżnia Wołoszyńska Pass on the side of Wielki Wołoszyn and by Niżnia Wołoszyńska Pass toward Skrajny Wołoszyn. On its south-eastern slopes, a massive unnamed rock tower dominates the Skalisty Żleb gully — a dramatic feature visible even from the Valley of Five Polish Lakes. The entire massif has the feel of a truly untouched alpine wilderness, with steep gullies, rocky ridgelines and a profound silence that only a protected, trail-free zone can offer.

• Important: the entire Wołoszyn massif has been under strict nature protection for many years and is closed to both hikers and climbers. Legal access to the summit is currently not possible.

• The Wołoszyn massif is under strict protection within Tatra National Park — entry is forbidden for tourists and mountaineers alike.
• The section of the famous 'Orla Perć' ridge trail from Polana pod Wołoszynem to Krzyżne, originally laid out by Father Walenty Gadowski in the early 20th century, has been closed for many years.
• The best views of the peak can be enjoyed from the Valley of Five Polish Lakes and from trails in the Roztoka Valley.

The slopes of Pośredni Wołoszyn are home to 'Saussurea pygmaea' — an exceptionally rare plant that in Poland grows exclusively in the Tatras and only in a handful of locations, making the protection of this massif all the more precious.
