Pośredni Granat (2234 m a.s.l.) is the middle of three summits forming the Granaty massif along the long eastern ridge of Świnica in the Polish High Tatras — and it sits right on the legendary Eagle's Path (Orla Perć), one of the most thrilling mountain trails in the entire Tatra range. If you are looking for an authentic high-alpine ridge experience, this is where you will find it.

The scenery here is raw and unforgettable. The western face plunges nearly 430 metres down to the Black Gąsienica Valley, while the eastern wall drops 280 metres towards Buczyno Valley. In summer the ridge glows in the sunshine and buzzes with adventurous hikers; in autumn the crowds thin out and the atmosphere turns wonderfully wild. The peak is separated from neighbouring Zadni Granat to the south by the subtle Pośrednia Sieczkowa Saddle, and from Skrajny Granat to the north by the more pronounced Skrajna Sieczkowa Saddle.

• From Krzyżne towards Kozi Wierch — approx. 3 h 35 min; note that the direction Kozi Wierch–Zawrat is not permitted

• The Eagle's Path through the Granaty peaks is strictly one-directional — from Zawrat towards Krzyżne only
• The descent from Pośredni Granat to Skrajna Sieczkowa Saddle is exposed and secured with a bracket and chain
• Drège's Gully below Skrajna Sieczkowa Saddle has been the site of several fatal accidents — stay on the marked trail at all times

Look out for the rare Hungarian fleabane growing on the slopes — a species endemic to the Tatra highlands. The first documented ascent of the Granaty peaks took place on 19 September 1867, though even then the explorers found traces of an earlier human visit at the top.
