Płoniec (841 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forested summit in the Góry Suche (Dry Mountains) range, part of the Góry Kamienne in the Central Sudetes. It sits southwest of the town of Głuszyca, tucked between Ruprechtickie Szpiczak and Kościelec — a peaceful corner of Sudeten landscape away from the tourist crowds.

The summit is covered predominantly by spruce monocultures, with patches of mixed lower-montane forest and beech woodland adding variety to the terrain. The atmosphere here is calm and intimate regardless of the season — cool and shaded in summer, strikingly colourful in autumn when the beeches turn gold. The gentle terrain makes it an easy and enjoyable walk for visitors of all abilities.

• Tłumaczów / Golińsk — green trail, easy to moderate difficulty. The green hiking trail connecting Tłumaczów with Golińsk passes directly over the summit of Płoniec.

• The southern part of the hill lies in the Czech Republic within the Broumovsko Protected Landscape Area — respect the regulations of this protected zone when hiking here.
• Płoniec is sometimes confused with the neighbouring peak Široký vrch (839 m) — double-check your map before setting off.

The Góry Suche are one of the lesser-known parts of the Sudetes, and Płoniec captures their essence perfectly — unspoilt, unhurried and genuinely rewarding.
