Piechowicka Góra is a modest but charming summit in the Karkonosze Foothills, perfect for a peaceful forest walk away from the crowds. It's a great spot for anyone who wants a taste of the Karkonosze region without tackling its high alpine peaks.

The whole ridge is built of typical Karkonosze granite and covered with lower montane forest, offering cool shade in summer and vibrant colors in autumn. Views from the summit itself are limited by the tree cover, but the trail delivers a calm, woodland atmosphere typical of the foothills. In winter the path is often snow-covered and quiet, making it a pleasant off-season stroll.

• Piechowice — blue trail toward Michałowice, easy difficulty
• Michałowice — the same blue trail, in the opposite direction

Practical information

• At the north-western end of the ridge there's a tunnel carrying the road from Piechowice to Michałowice
• The blue tourist trail runs west of the summit itself, not directly over the top

An interesting detail is the peak's German name, Kieferberg, a reminder of the region's past and the pine trees that once covered these slopes.
