Pevnost is a hidden gem in the Krkonoše Mountains, tucked away on the southern spur of the Silesian Ridge. There's no marked trail leading to the summit, which keeps it wonderfully quiet — but those who make the effort are rewarded with one of the finest panoramic views near Špindlerův Mlýn.

The summit area is covered mostly by spruce forest, interspersed with clearings and meadows. The real highlight is a cluster of granite rock formations rising directly at the top, up to 7 meters tall, offering a full circular view: north to the Silesian Ridge with Vysoké kolo and Dívčí kameny, east to Malý Šišák and the White Elbe valley with distant Sněžka, south down to Špindlerův Mlýn itself, and west toward Medvědín, Zlaté návrší and the Elbe Valley with Labská bouda. In winter the frosted rocks create a magical scene, while in summer it's a peaceful escape from the crowds.

• From Špindlerův Mlýn — yellow trail via the Dívčí lávky junction, then toward Davidovy Boudy, about 2.5 km from Dívčí lávky, moderate difficulty
• Before Davidovy Boudy, turn left onto the road to Slunečná bouda; after 100 m turn left again onto a wide forest road that leads directly to the summit rocks after 350 m

• No marked trail leads directly to the summit — some navigation skills are needed
• Pevnost lies within Zone III of the Krkonoše National Park (KRNAP), meaning there are no access restrictions — forest roads and clearings on the southeastern slope can be used to shorten the ascent by about 1 km

This is one of the few spots in the Krkonoše where you can enjoy a full mountain panorama without the usual crowds — a true reward for those who love exploring off-the-beaten-path corners.
