Ostrý vrch (256 m a.s.l.) is a gentle forested summit in the Chvojnica Uplands of western Slovakia, best known for its newly opened lookout tower 'Mojmírova bašta' offering sweeping views towards the Little Carpathians. Small in elevation but big on charm, it makes a perfect easy outing for families and casual hikers alike.

Situated just south of the town of Gbely in the Unín Uplands, the hill is cloaked in woodland that provides welcome shade in summer and a blaze of colour in autumn. From the top, you can spot Zámčisko — the highest peak of the Chvojnica Uplands — as well as the ridge of the Little Carpathians and the Pavlov Hills stretching across the Slovak-Czech border. The atmosphere is quiet and unhurried, with birdsong rather than crowds.

• From the southeast — unsurfaced gravel track off road III/1155 Gbely–Smolinské, gentler gradient, difficulty: easy.
• From the north — unsurfaced sandy track from the town of Gbely, slightly steeper, difficulty: easy/moderate.
• Forest paths also connect the summit with the villages of Smolinské, Čáry and Brodské.

• Motor vehicle access to the summit is permitted for maintenance traffic only.
• An open hikers' shelter with overnight sleeping option and a fireplace are available at the top.
• The lookout tower 'Mojmírova bašta' has been open to the public since 2023.

The tower's name honours the legacy of Saints Cyril and Methodius, who brought literacy and Christianity to Great Moravia — a civilisation that once flourished in this very corner of Europe.
