Ostriež is a quiet, forested summit rising to 371 m above sea level in the Little Carpathians, just south-southwest of the town of Brezová pod Bradlom. Its almost perfectly oval shape, carved out by the arc of the Brezovský stream, gives it a distinctive, self-contained character that sets it apart from the rest of the range.

The hill is largely covered in woodland, making it a pleasant escape into nature at any time of year. The eastern slopes are the steepest, while the other sides descend more gently. In spring the forest floor comes alive with greenery, summer brings cool shade under the canopy, and autumn transforms the hillside into a palette of gold and amber. It is the kind of place where you come to breathe, slow down, and enjoy the simple pleasure of a forest walk.

• Brezová pod Bradlom railway station sits directly at the southern foot of the hill — arriving by train is a very convenient option.

Ostriež marks the northern edge of the Brezovské Karpaty sub-unit, making it a fine starting point for exploring this quieter corner of the Little Carpathians.
