Olivetská hora is a modest but charming peak in the Jizera Mountains, offering a peaceful escape and a gentle taste of the region's forested hills. It's the kind of place you visit not for dramatic views, but for quiet, easy-going nature.

The terrain here is soft and rolling, wrapped in forest that changes character with the seasons — lush green in summer, golden in autumn, and blanketed in snow come winter, when the popular Jizera Ski Trail (Jizerská magistrála) runs right across the summit. Two rivers, the Černá Nisa and the Jeřice, have their sources near the mountain, adding a fresh, watery charm to the landscape.

How to reach the summit

• Follow the blue-marked trail along a paved path leading over the summit — an easy route suitable for families
• The historic New Pilgrimage Route also passes this way, connecting the Liberec region with the church in Hejnice

• Nearby signposted junctions include 'Bílá kuchyně – rozcestí' to the northeast, 'Pod Olivetskou horou' to the southeast, and 'Závory' to the southwest
• In winter, the route doubles as part of the Jizera Ski Trail (Jizerská magistrála) for cross-country skiers

The mountain's name comes from a small picture of the biblical Mount of Olives that someone once hung on a tree here — a simple story behind a name that has stuck ever since the interwar period.
