Okole (725 m a.s.l.) is the highest peak of the Northern Ridge of the Kaczawa Mountains in Lower Silesia — a rewarding summit with a brand-new viewing platform and sweeping panoramas that make the hike well worth it. It is also one of the peaks included in the Crown of the Lower Silesian Mountains, making it a must-visit for peak-baggers exploring the region.

A wooden viewing platform and a tourist shelter, both built in 2018, welcome visitors at the top. From here you can admire Łysa Góra (707 m), the Rudawy Janowickie range and the Karkonosze (Giant Mountains), and through the trees the distinctive volcanic cone of Ostrzyca comes into view. On clear days, Szczeliniec Wielki appears between the Rudawy Janowickie and the Ołowiane Mountains. The summit area is dotted with natural rock outcrops of ancient greenstone — a subtle but fascinating geological highlight along any route.

After World War II the peak briefly carried the Polish name 'Ogule' before settling on its current name Okole — its former German name was Hogolie, a small linguistic footnote to the turbulent history of this corner of Silesia.
