Obrubovanec (1,020 m a.s.l.) is a peaceful summit in the heart of the Veporské vrchy mountains in central Slovakia, perfect for hikers who enjoy quiet ridgeline walks away from the crowds. The famous red-marked long-distance trail — the Rudná magistrála — traverses its slopes, making it a natural waypoint on any longer mountain journey through this region.

The summit itself is cloaked in dense forest, so don't expect an open panorama at the very top — but the wide mountain meadows on the surrounding slopes more than make up for it. From these pastures, you can take in sweeping views of the Veporské vrchy peaks, the Low Tatras, and the Poľana massif. The meadows have been used for centuries for grazing cattle and sheep, giving the landscape a timeless, pastoral feel. The ridge also marks the boundary of the Poľana Protected Landscape Area. Each season brings its own mood: golden autumn colours, blooming spring meadows, and a hushed, snowy silence in winter.
