Neniska Mala (1815 m a.s.l.) rises on the Ukrainian-Romanian border in the Hutsul Alps massif of the Ukrainian Carpathians. It is a wild and rewarding summit — steep flanks, rocky cliffs and open alpine meadows combine to create a truly frontier mountain experience.

The lower slopes are cloaked in dense forest, which gradually gives way to open polonyny (alpine pastures) as you gain altitude. The views from the ridge are striking: to the east stands the neighbouring Neniska Velyka (1815.5 m), and to the south, across the Romanian border, looms the bulk of Farkeu (1961 m). The northern face is especially dramatic, with rocky crags and scree fields demanding careful footwork. In summer the meadows are lush and peaceful; in autumn the surrounding forests turn vivid shades of gold and amber.

• Village of Bohdan (Rakhiv district, Zakarpattia Oblast) — nearest starting point, approach via northern or eastern slopes; difficulty: demanding, due to steep and rocky terrain.

• The summit ridge forms the Ukrainian-Romanian state border — do not cross without valid border documents.
• The northern face features rocky cliffs and scree — extra caution is required on this side.
• The southern slopes of the mountain fall within Romanian territory.

Neniska Mala and its twin peak Neniska Velyka sit side by side on the border ridge, each looking out over a different country — a small geographic curiosity that makes this summit memorable.
