Młyńsko is a modest peak deep in the Owl Mountains that charms not with height but with the wild atmosphere of its spruce forest and curious gneiss rock formations tucked into its slope. It's a spot for hikers craving quiet, away from the crowds that gather on nearby Wielka Sowa.

The summit itself is faint, almost merging into the bulk of Wielka Sowa just 1.5 km away. What makes Młyńsko distinctive is its steep, sweeping slope known as Węglarz, dropping toward Rościszów — especially striking in autumn when deciduous trees mixed into the spruce forest blaze with color. On the eastern slope, just below the top, look out for a cluster of interesting gneiss rocks — a small but charming detour. Summer brings cool shade under the canopy, while winter turns the trail quiet and scenic, though caution is needed on snow. The whole area lies within the Owl Mountains Landscape Park, so expect rich lower-montane forest and typical Sudeten character.

How to reach the summit

• From Wielka Sowa — blue trail (part of the European long-distance E3 route), short walk (approx. 1.5 km), easy difficulty
• From Ludwikowice Kłodzkie or Rościszów — green trail along the eastern slope, moderate difficulty
• From Walim via Wielka Sowa — yellow trail toward Kamionki, moderate difficulty
