Minčol (1,398 m a.s.l.) is one of the most accessible summits in the central part of Veľká Fatra, a beautiful mountain range in the heart of Slovakia. Its relatively easy reach from a nearby village makes it a popular destination, and on clear days the views stretch to the Low Tatras, Malá Fatra and part of the Orava Magura highland.

The peak rises above the village of Liptovské Revúce, sitting on the southern section of the main Turiec ridge. Western slopes descend into the Ľubochnianska valley, eastern slopes into the Revúcka valley — both carved by mountain streams draining the Minčol massif. The summit area is lightly wooded, which slightly limits the panorama but frames lovely close-up views of Veľká Fatra's highest neighbours, including the massive Rakytov to the northeast. The peak lies entirely within the Veľká Fatra National Park, keeping the landscape wild and unspoiled through every season.

• The summit is located within the Veľká Fatra National Park — national park regulations apply throughout the area.
• The peak is also marked on older maps under the alternative name 'Kračkov'.

The neighbouring summit of Rakytov to the northeast and Čierny kameň to the southwest frame Minčol on both sides, making the ridge walk between them a rewarding extension of any visit.
