Mikušová (778 m a.s.l.) is a quiet, forested summit in the northern part of Lúčanská Malá Fatra, tucked above the villages of Višňové and Turie, just 9 km southeast of Žilina. It is the kind of place that rewards those who enjoy off-the-beaten-path woodland walks rather than busy marked trails.

The summit is covered in mixed forest, which gives it a secluded, atmospheric feel throughout the year. Wide panoramic views are limited — they open up only from small clearings and logging areas — but from those spots you can spot the Žilina Hill Country, part of the Rajec Basin, and under clear conditions the surroundings of Žilina, the northern Súľov Rocks, the Javorníky range and the Kysuce Highlands. On exceptionally clear days, the 'thousanders' of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids — Kněhyně, Smrk and Lysá hora — appear on the horizon. The western slopes drain into the Turá Valley via the Turianka stream, while the rest of the hill feeds the Mlynárov stream to the north.

The peak sits on the boundary between the cadastral territories of Višňové and Turie in Žilina District. Its nearest neighbours are Valientov diel (828 m) to the east, Dolná roveň (950 m) to the southeast, and Čipčie (920 m) to the southwest.
