Mały Cisowy is a modest but charming summit along the main ridge of the Błatnia Range in the Silesian Beskids, tucked between Wielka Cisowa and Czupel. It's a spot for hikers seeking quiet moments and rewarding views away from the crowds – the peak itself is barely a bump in the ridge, but its meadows deliver a genuine visual treat.

The character of this place is shaped by sweeping meadows stretching from the saddle below Czupel to Wielka Cisowa and onward to Błotny. This was once an active pastoral area – shepherds from Brenna grazed cattle here as early as the 17th century. The northern slopes descend toward the Jasienica valley (belonging to Jaworze), while the southern slopes drop toward the Brennica valley (belonging to Brenna). In summer, the sun-drenched meadows invite you to linger, while autumn and winter bring even more dramatic views over the Cieszyn Foothills and surrounding peaks. It's considered one of the more distinctive panoramas in the entire Silesian Beskids.

How to reach the summit

• Jaworze-Nałęże (ZHP campsite) in the Jasionka valley — red trail, via Łazek and Czupel, approx. 1:50 h one way, moderately demanding
• Return via the same route — approx. 1:20 h
• The trail continues on toward Wielka Cisowa and Błatnia, forming a longer ridge hike (full section 4.7 km, total ascent 340 m)

Practical information

• Remnants of old shepherd huts, including stone-built sheep pens, can still be spotted on the meadows
• Faint traces of WWII trenches and fortifications remain visible — Polish from 1939 and German from 1944/45

This is a place where pastoral history intertwines with wartime history, and the views reward anyone who strays from the more crowded trails of the Silesian Beskids.
