Malinné (1,209 m a.s.l.) rises right above the town of Ružomberok in the northeastern part of the Veľká Fatra range, making it one of the most accessible mountain summits in the region. Whether you prefer a scenic hike or a gondola ride, this peak offers an almost circular panorama that will stay with you long after you descend.

The summit is partly forested and sits on the southern edge of the Šípska Fatra subrange. The views stretch across the northern peaks of Veľká Fatra and the Liptov Basin, and on a clear day you can spot the Low Tatras, Western Tatras, the Veľký Choč massif, and the Orava Magura ridge. In winter, the northeastern slopes come alive as the Malinô Brdo ski resort, while in summer the whole area transforms into a pleasant hiking destination with well-marked trails connecting the peak to nearby villages and valleys.

Just 1.5 km from the peak lies Vlkolínec, a remarkably preserved 18th-century folk village listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site — well worth combining with your hike up Malinné.
