Malá Prašivá (707 m a.s.l.) is a charming summit in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids that offers something truly unique: a 17th-century wooden church and a cosy mountain hut sitting together at the top. It is one of those places where a gentle hike leads to a surprisingly rich reward.

The hill extends westward from its parent peak Prašivá (843 m) and marks the beginning of a long ridge running through Čupel, Lipí, Ropička and on to Ropice. The terrain is classically Beskid — forested slopes that glow green in summer and burst into colour in autumn. The ascent is easy enough for most walkers and the trails are open year-round, though spring can bring muddy conditions.

Legend has it that Count Jiří Oppersdorf ordered the little church to be built in 1640 as a gesture of gratitude after miraculously surviving a hunting accident on these very slopes — and that story gives the whole place an atmosphere you simply cannot manufacture.
