Magura Stuposiańska (1016 m a.s.l.) is a rewarding summit in the Western Bieszczady range — a long forested ridge enclosed by the valleys of the San, Dwernik and Wołosaty rivers, offering genuine wilderness and sweeping views for those who make the climb. It sits between Przysłup Caryński and Kosowiec, forming the high point of a compact, elongated massif.

The summit hosts a forest clearing with panoramic views, though the trees are slowly reclaiming it — so the sooner you visit, the better the outlook. The slopes are draped in beech forest that glows golden and red in autumn and provides cool shade in summer. The entire massif falls within the San Valley Landscape Park, keeping the atmosphere peaceful and unspoiled. Winter brings snow to the ridge, while spring and autumn trails can be muddy.

• Widełki (Pszczeliny) — blue trail, approx. 1 h 55 min ascent, moderate — the route passes the 983 m subsidiary summit (a trail junction), from which the main top is a further ~15 min walk.
• Dwernik — blue trail, approx. 3 h 30 min ascent, moderate — a longer but scenic approach from the Dwernik valley.
• Przysłup Caryński — yellow trail, approx. 55 min ascent, easy — the shortest approach, convenient as a return leg from Połonina Caryńska.

• The massif lies within the San Valley Landscape Park — standard park regulations apply.
• Three small caves are tucked into the south-eastern ridge; the largest is called Studnia Leśników (Foresters' Well).
• The 983 m subsidiary peak serves as the main trail junction — a useful reference point when planning your route or return.

The word 'magura' comes from Vlach (pastoral) language and means a tall, isolated mountain — it travelled across the Carpathians with Wallachian shepherds centuries ago and lives on in many Bieszczady place names today.
