Luboń Mały is a modest but charming peak on the western ridge of Luboń Wielki, offering an easy and rewarding hike in the Beskid Wyspowy mountains. It's the kind of place perfect for a relaxed half-day trip without demanding much effort in return.

The summit is mostly forested, but windthrow damage has opened up unexpected viewpoints to the north, giving hikers a nice panorama over the Beskid Makowski range, with the nearby Zębalowa peak standing out clearly. The northern slopes descend into the Smugawka valley, while the southern ones drop into the Rabka Basin, fed by the Lubońka stream, a tributary of the Skomielnianka. In winter the trail is quiet and snow-covered, in summer it offers pleasant shade under the trees, and in autumn the forest turns golden — a good destination in any season.

How to reach the summit

• Naprawa Dolna (parking lot by the DK7 road – Zakopianka) — blue trail, approx. 2:15 h (1:40 h downhill), 460 m of ascent, distance 7.6 km, easy difficulty
• The trail continues past Luboń Mały towards Polana Surówki

Practical information

• Beneath the western slope, a two-tube tunnel for the S7 expressway was built between 2017 and 2022
• Buildings on the slopes belong to the village of Naprawa

Fun fact: despite its modest height, Luboń Mały offers views that many taller, fully forested peaks in the area simply can't match, thanks to the windthrow clearings.
