Łopiennik (1,069 m a.s.l.) is one of those quietly captivating Bieszczady summits that rewards hikers who venture off the main tourist trail. As the highest point of the Łopiennik and Durna Ridge, it sits close to the villages of Cisna and Jabłonki yet feels refreshingly off the beaten path.

The route winds through dense forest and open ridgelines typical of the Western Bieszczady. From the top, on a clear day you can enjoy a southward view towards Falowa, Smerek and Mała Rawka. Historically, the summit viewpoint was famous enough to earn its own name — the 'Łopiennik Panorama' — and legend has it the city of Lwów (Lviv) was once visible from here. Today the trees have grown up and the panorama is mostly screened, but the walk remains utterly rewarding. Summer brings lush greenery and a lively base camp atmosphere near Łopienka; autumn transforms the ridge into a canvas of russet and gold.

• Łopiennik lies within the Ciśniańsko-Wetlińskie Landscape Park.
• A student tent camp operates near Łopienka in summer — overnight stays in your own tent or camp tents are possible; every hiker is traditionally welcomed with a cup of mint tea in a battered metal mug.
• A commemorative plaque from 1975 is embedded at the summit, quoting the diary of Zygmunt Kaczkowski from August 1833.

At around 800 m a.s.l. on the slopes of Łopiennik grows the bearded pink — this is the highest-altitude site of this rare protected plant species in the whole of Poland.
