Łopień (961 m a.s.l.) is one of the most rewarding peaks in the Beskid Wyspowy range — a broad, forested massif packed with open meadows, hidden caves and sweeping views that reach all the way to the Tatra Mountains on a clear day. If you are looking for a quieter alternative to the busy trails of the High Tatras, this is your place.

The long ridge runs from south-west to north-east and is dotted with beautiful clearings — remnants of centuries of shepherd life. The highlight is the Jaworze meadow, a perfect spot to rest or spend the night under the stars. A short 50-metre path through the trees leads south to Widny Zrąbek, a rocky viewpoint with an iron cross, a field altar and a summit register box. From here you can take in the upper Łososina valley, the peaks of Mogielica, Gorce, Ćwilin, Śnieżnica and — on the best days — the Tatras themselves. The mountain is almost entirely cloaked in forest, with silver firs growing up to 50 metres tall, making it a spectacular destination in every season.

• A summit register box and benches are located at the Widny Zrąbek viewpoint just west of the main summit.
• Meadows Jaworze and Myconiówka are designated bivouac spots.
• Jaskinia Zbójecka cave (433 m of passages) is a protected nature monument and one of Poland's most important lesser horseshoe bat sites — access is restricted during bat protection season.
• The massif is part of the Natura 2000 area 'Uroczysko Łopień'.
• A marked cycling route also crosses the mountain.

Local legend says the giant Łopień was the husband of neighbouring Mogielica, and that outlaws once hid in the mountain's caves — folk wisdom even claims a goat let into one of Łopień's caves emerged on Mogielica, proof of a secret underground connection between the two peaks.
