Leśniak (677 m a.s.l.) is a forested, characterful summit in the Northern Ridge of the Kaczawa Mountains, hiding a collection of bizarrely shaped rock formations that make it far more interesting than its modest elevation might suggest. If you enjoy discovering quiet forest trails with a touch of geological wonder, this peak is well worth your time.

The entire massif is draped in woodland, and the slopes are scattered with fantastically shaped metamorphic outcrops bearing evocative names — 'Czarcia Ambona' (Devil's Pulpit), 'Klęśniak', and 'Mszak'. The rocks are part of the Kaczawa metamorphic complex, made primarily of greenstones. Across the seasons the forest shifts its mood: fresh and bright in spring, shady and cool in summer, and gloriously colourful in autumn. It is a place for slow, peaceful walking rather than summit-bagging.

• Blue-marked International Trail E3 — passes below the summit, providing access to the massif; difficulty: easy to moderate.

• The International Long Distance Trail E3 — one of Europe's longest walking routes — runs near the summit along the blue-marked path.
• The massif is fully forested with no open viewpoints at the top.
